long night, sweet final hand
So I went to nats 1/2 game and it was the slowest i had ever seen the game move ever. I mean now, looking back and doing the math based on the high hand winners, im pretty sure i saw less than 120 hands in a little under 6 hours of play. which would have been less except the people who slowed the game out were gone at the end of playing. One kid analyzed every hand like it was up to him to decide the right decision or the world will fall, talking non stop and he was probably the dumbest human being i ever met. Like this dude was trying to hold legit conversations about hands when he has no idea what he is talking about, and all the while he is doing it like holding his cards up and showing people out of the hand like its "sympathy hour" i felt like telling him "no dude your J9 is no good you have J-high stop talking about a closed straight and fold your hand."
Anyway, slow play and dead cards got me pretty low in chips, so i re-loaded $60 more, putting my stack back up near $100 when the following hand came up. I have TT in middle position and this kid UTG +1 makes it $14 to go preflop. I call and two other players call. The flop comes 4 7 9. He bets $25 and I push for the rest of my stack, he has 99 and im out.
I go to the ATM and come back and buy in another $100. This gets grinded down casually, and so i get $50 back from the $100 i lent poke. I have that sitting around $100 and i had a hand against Gavin where I had 4T and raised it up to $10 preflop, i hit on the 4 7 8 flop. I knew gavin put me on big cards like AK AQ etc. So he checks the flop and I bet out $20, the other 2 players in the hand folded and Gavin takes a moment and calls. at this point I put gavin on a hand like K6 or A6 with a gutshot draw and hoping maybe I have KQ or JQ or just trying to steal the pot from me knowing i have big cards. the turn comes 4 7 8 Q and Gavin bets out $75, i decide to go with my read and put my last $23 in over top of his bet, and he shows 97o. stunning, bad read i guess lol. So I get the last $50 I lent out and now I am into this game for $360. with this $50 I double up with A2 when the flop comes T22 and Gavin calls my all in with JQ. what a fish. the turn was a 2 and now I have got the High hand on lock. I have like that $100 for the whole time and finally i get paid for the high hand. Sitting with $150 I make some bluffs and show, and i also get mixed up in some pots i shouldnt have been in. anyway, the last hand of the night, which wasnt announced as the last hand of the night, I have like $95 left.
Gavin makes it $7 to go and I call with 58d. Joey calls and its three handed. The flop comes 3d 4c Ts. Gavin checks, I check and joey checks. The turn is the 2d and I am now open ended with a flush draw. Gavin bets $15 and I call, and joey calls. The river comes 3d 4c Ts 2d Jd.
Gavin thinks for a moment and checks. Now I am looking at a $51 pot. I decide to overbet it all in, for many reasons,
1. Joey is the only person i bluffed at all night, and it worked twice and failed once, but all three times I made sure everyone knew.
2.Gavin commented on me bluffing alot, despite it only being joey.
3. both of them had stacks upward of $300.
I go all in for $73. Joey makes some comment like "if i let you catch up im gonna hate myself" or something, and calls. now gavin flips up T4 and says he thinks he has the best hand. Joey tells him "two pair is no good" and gavin looks at him, and then verbalizes what he is thinking. He is thinking I am on a bluff and he is not worried about that at all. Now thinking I was bluffing he put joey on a pair of Tens because he thought joey thought i was bluffing too. Gavin flipped up his hand and joey said something about his hand being dead but joey then smiled and said nah thats fine. Now this looks like joey is afraid of Gavins hand and that he does read me as a bluff and joey has like Tens or a pocket pair. Gavin doesnt even think about what I have for a second because my all in bet read bluff all over it. So Gavin calls and Joey has 56 for the straight and I show 58d and take down the $250 pot.
then i cashed out and went home down
$110 for the night.
Friday -$110
