Making the best of it.
So today after my post yesterday about a poker drought i was able to get a game going 4-handed. We started off playing a $5 tournament winner takes all. I played extremely well and was able to take down some decent sized pots with 7 high and 8 high both on missed draws. I managed to get it all in with AJ against burds JT on a J 8 7 flop and so I had a commanding chip lead and took it down.
After that we decided to play some HOE. 10 minute rotations .25/.50 blinds of NL holdem, PL Omaha, and PL Eights or better(omaha hi lo). I was up for awhile and doubled my $10 stack when my 88 hit a set on Burd's KK after getting it all in preflop. From there I was doing well until my JJ got me into trouble after a raise preflop when i bet hard into a 245 board and dustin got it all in with A3. I rebought with $15 and put it to around $26 when the following hand happened in Omaha Hi/Lo.
It was four handed and Faze was the small blind, Dustin was big blind and I was UTG. I called for .50. Burd called. Faze limped and dustin bet the pot. We all called.
Pot $8.
Flop 8h Tc 5c
Faze bet the pot and dustin called, I raised the pot burd folded and faze went all in, as did dustin. the pot was $75 and $1.5o on the side.
Faze showed 3h 3c 5s 5d for a set of fives
Dustin showed Ah Th Ks 3d for Top Pair Top Kicker with a low draw
I had 7h 7c 6c 9h for for a three way straight draw as well as the flush draw.
I ran the hands through a hand calculator and this is what came out
My hand - Scoop 20.42% HI Win 58.26% Low Win 17.72%
Faze's Hand - Scoop 16.22% HI Win 35.14% Low Win 0.00
Dustins Hand - Scoop 4.95% HI Win 6.61% LOwin 51.50%
I think there is no way I could ever lay this hand down. Dustin only called on a low draw because he knew 10s were not good.
The Turn was 8h Tc 5c 3s the last three in the deck. This card couldnt have been better. I guarenteed me a part of the pot because dustin could now only make a low if i hit my straight or set of sevens. The river was the Jack of clubs and gave me the flush and the 3 5 6 7 8 low which was good. It sucks for faze he had trip 3s AND trip 5s but no boat...
